About GIB
In the year 1961, our Society, with a mission to eradicate ignorance and illiteracy of the people of the region started an Arts and Science College at Nipani. Then, this was the only college catering to educational needs of major parts of Belagavi and Vijaypur districts. In 1966, the college was named after late Shri Ganapati Ishwarappa Bagewadi who donated a munificent sum for the development of the college. Subsequently, in the year 1977 Commerce faculty was added. In the ever changing scenario of Globalization and Liberalization and cater to the needs of the economically, socially disadvantaged rural youth of our hinterland who could not afford the higher education elsewhere. The P.G. courses in Commerce and Mathematics were started in the academic years 2010-11 and 2011-12 respectively.
